Woke up little ahead of my alarm… I must say, a bit excited. Tho we had practice run a day before still race day is always different. The crowd, the road ur not familiar, and ur eagerness to end with a new PR. Arrived around 30mins before gunstart but parking space always been a challenged. Race for 21k runners on time but because of the numbers of participants, we were like wave c its few mins late but still its d pace… For me route is new since ds is my first 21k for RU legs. Dark areas and traffic were part of the course…one participant peed somewhere dark and accidentally slipped and who knows what happened. Hopefully ds guy is okay and am not sure if he still did finish d race given d circumstance. I am thankful i completed d race with no injury or at least less… Calf compressor did help, hydration belt and gel were heroes for me. Reaching d last km s d hardest, y? Because its so near yet so far. Hehe i mean, you technically can see the finish line but it is getting harder and harder completting the last few steps, hops and strides…luckily i manage to finish my second half marathon with a new personal record of 2hrs and 19mins. I am, yes very happy and thankful to my running buddy Joana Azcueta…right after i insisted for a massage -thanks UST PT. Active Health Village was fullhouse, from ordinary runner to celebrity to supporters…everyone seemed having a great tym. The best part is Rivermaya!!! until the next leg whoooaahh 32k!!!
